Who operates LifeRate.ca, who actually advises you, and the boundaries we keep between education and selling.

Who operates this site, and who advises you
LifeRate.ca is operated by Webhub4u Inc., a Canadian technology company and publisher (not a licensed insurance broker). When you request a life insurance consultation, your inquiry is referred to KLC Group Canada Inc., a firm licensed for life insurance by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) under the Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP). A licensed advisor from KLC Group Canada Inc. will contact you. Any recommendation or advice about a policy comes from that licensed advisor, not from LifeRate.ca. No coverage is bound until an application is approved and issued by the insurer. This service is offered to residents of Ontario; availability in other provinces may differ.
How the referral works
LifeRate.ca publishes education and planning tools. When you ask to speak to someone, your inquiry is passed to a licensed advisor — the hand-off above is the whole of our role. We compare across a panel of carriers rather than representing a single insurer, so what you see is not a one-carrier pitch.
This page does not describe the commercial terms of the referral arrangement. How pricing and any compensation work for your specific case is exactly the kind of question the licensed advisor will answer plainly before you commit to anything.
Advertising and affiliate links
LifeRate.ca does not currently run display advertising, sponsored content, or paid placements, and does not carry affiliate product links — there is no "Apply Now" button here that pays us. Buttons on this site lead to our own quote and contact pages; the only external links are to our sibling Rate Family sites. If any of this changes, the placements will be clearly labelled and this page will be updated first.
Editorial separation
Educational content and comparisons are built to be checkable: figures carry the date they were taken, methods are shown next to their results, and pages that make a "best" style claim must link the methodology behind it. Rankings are never sold.
Accuracy and refresh
Product terms change. Pages and tools carry a last-updated stamp when they are materially revised, and the calculator states its method next to its result. If you spot something stale or wrong, tell us and we will fix it or take it down.
Questions about any of this? Contact us — or ask the advisor directly; they are licensed precisely so you can.
